HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate John and Sandy 
4
Carleton on the occasion of their retirement from Hononegah 
5
High School; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, John and Sandy Carleton met while teaching at a 
7
school in the Chicago suburbs and both took jobs at Hononegah 
8
High School in 1980; after 28 years at Hononegah, both of them 
9
will retire in May of 2008; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, John Carleton, or Doc as he is known in the high 
11
school community, holds a Ph.D. in science education and 
12
teaches physics at Hononegah; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Sandy Carleton is a special-education teacher at 
14
Hononegah High School; as a special-education teacher, she has 
15
faced different challenges from students who have emotional, 
16
mental, and physical challenges as well as such specific 
17
afflictions as attention deficit disorder and autism; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, After retiring, John and Sandy Carleton plan to 
19
spend more time with their son Jeff, who will graduate from 
20
Hononegah High School in May of 2008; and

    WHEREAS, John and Sandy Carleton serve as models of hard 
2
work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
3
Illinois; therefore, be it

 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate John and Sandy Carleton on the occasion of their 
7
retirement from Hononegah High School and wish them many happy 
8
and healthy retirement years; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to John and Sandy Carleton as a symbol of our esteem 
11
and respect.
