| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the |

| Benton High School girls track team on the occasion of winning |

| the Illinois High School Association Class A Girls Track & |
| 6 |
| Field 2008 State Championship on May 17, 2008; and

| WHEREAS, The Benton High School girls track team captured |
| 8 |
| the Illinois High School Association Class A Girls Track & |
| 9 |
| Field 2008 State Championship in Charleston with a total score |
| 10 |
| of 54, clinching their second tournament victory in 3 years; |
| 11 |
| and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, During the tournament, Benton High School senior |
| 13 |
| Leah Orley placed first in the triple jump, 110-meter high |
| 14 |
| hurdles and 300 intermediate hurdles events; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Benton High School girls track |
| 16 |
| team are Carly Cripps, Leah Orley, Victoria Price, Anna Smith, |
| 17 |
| Courtney Smith, Gracey Bailey, Chelsea Hayden, Madaline |
| 18 |
| Parrish, Kessa Roberts, Ashley Webb, Sammi Bybee, Sara Miles, |

| Katie Pemberton, Sydney Potts, and Natalie Taylor; the team's |

| head coach is Andy Sloan and the assistant coaches are Justin |
