| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor the Federation of Suburban |
| 4 |
| Pakistanis for the work they perform in their community; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Federation of Suburban Pakistanis is a |
| 6 |
| non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and |
| 7 |
| friendship between the Pakistani and American communities; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The Federation of Suburban Pakistanis will |
| 9 |
| celebrate Pakistan's 61st Independence Day at a celebration on |
| 10 |
| August 16, 2008 at the Village Green Amphitheater in Hoffman |
| 11 |
| Estates; the celebration, which includes Pakistani music, |
| 12 |
| cultural dance performances, and ethnic Pakistani food, will |
| 13 |
| give many Illinois residents a glimpse at the wonderful culture |
| 14 |
| and traditions of Pakistan and its people; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The Federation of Suburban Pakistanis has helped |
| 16 |
| to bridge Pakistani and American culture in many beneficial and |
| 17 |
| enlightening ways; therefore, be it
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 |
| honor the Federation of Suburban Pakistanis for the work they |
| 21 |
| perform in their community and wish them a joyous and safe |
