2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jan Kelsheimer on | ||||||
4 | her retirment as President of Easter Seals Central Illinois; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jan will be retiring on August 31, 2008 after 23 | ||||||
7 | years service to Easter Seals and helping people with | ||||||
8 | disabilities to live a more independent life; under her | ||||||
9 | leadership a capital campaign was held for a new building, | ||||||
10 | moving Easter Seals from a small nonfunctional building on | ||||||
11 | Cerro Gordo Street to the new Independence Pointe Building on | ||||||
12 | 27th Street; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, This move has enabled Easter Seals Central | ||||||
14 | Illinois to expand programs as well as start new programs for | ||||||
15 | the community such as: Discovery Depot Inclusive Childcare | ||||||
16 | Center, Physical Therapy, Social Skill Programs for | ||||||
17 | Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, and Respite | ||||||
18 | Services; these added programs increase the clients served each | ||||||
19 | year; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Easter Seals is a CARF accredited organization | ||||||
21 | through the leadership and guidance of Jan Kelsheimer; she is | ||||||
22 | adept at securing funds for Easter Seals programs; through her |
| |||||||
| |||||||
1 | years of leadership she forged bonds with a variety of funding | ||||||
2 | sources; she is always willing to collaborate with other | ||||||
3 | organizations in creating new programs for clients; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, She believes in recruiting employees with the | ||||||
5 | highest credentials to be on the staff at Easter Seals Central | ||||||
6 | Illinois; she encourages employees to be involved in the | ||||||
7 | community through the United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, | ||||||
8 | Sertoma, and other organizations; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, She is a strong proponent of continuing education | ||||||
10 | for all employees in their field of expertise; under her | ||||||
11 | guidance, the employees work together as a team, building | ||||||
12 | relationships both in and out of the workplace; therefore, be | ||||||
13 | it
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
15 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
16 | congratulate Jan Kelsheimer on her retirement and wish her the | ||||||
17 | best in her future endeavors; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to Jan Kelsheimer as a symbol of our respect.
