HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives wish to honor the life of Bruce Hohenstein of 
4
Mt. Auburn; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Bruce Hohenstein passed away on November 19, 2007 
6
and is remembered with fondness by the people of Mt. Auburn; he 
7
was born on October 12, 1951 to Dale "Shorty" and Gloria Anne 
8
Smith Hohenstein; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He married Deborah G. Vincent on July 4, 1961 and 
10
they became the proud parents of Clint Bruce Hohenstein and 
11
Wyatt Dale Hohenstein; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He enjoyed golf, carpentry, red wine, political 
13
discussions, and helping others; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He served as the Mayor of Mt. Auburn from 1989 to 
15
2001, and again from 2005 to 2007; he was a Village Trustee 
16
from 1973 to 1985, 1987 to 1989, and from 2001 to 2005; and he 
17
was Democratic Precinct Committeeman for Mt. Auburn Township 
18
from 1991 to 2007; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, In addition, he served on the Christian County 
20
Zoning Board from 1993 to 2007 and held almost every office in

the Mt. Auburn Lions Club; on the Lions Club district level he 
2
served as Zone Chairman and Deputy District Governor, and on 
3
the State level he was District 1-L Governor in 1982 and 1983; 
4
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
honor the life of Bruce Hohenstein and his dedication to the 
8
Village of Mt. Auburn; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Bruce Hohenstein as a symbol of our 
11
sincere respect.
