HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Principal Stephanie Di Prima and Father Wayne Prist of Queen of All Saints School in Chicago on the school being named as a "No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School" by the United States Department of Education; and

WHEREAS, Six Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools were named by Secretary Margaret Spellings of the U.S. Department of Education as No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools, representing the most from any school system in the nation this year; and

WHEREAS, 2008 makes the second consecutive year Archdiocesan Catholic schools have earned the distinction of being the school system with the largest number of No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools; and

WHEREAS, Since 2003, a total of 21 Archdiocesan Catholic schools have been designated as No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools; since 1983, Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools have received this distinction on 51 occasions; and

WHEREAS, The principal and a teacher from each school will receive a plaque and a flag signifying their No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School status at a U.S. Department of Education ceremony on October 20-21, 2008 in Washington, D.C.; once they have returned to their schools, Masses, ceremonies, and school pep rallies will be scheduled in celebration of achieving No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School status; and

WHEREAS, Principal Di Prima and Father Prist can both be proud of their school earning this distinction; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the staff, faculty, and students of Queen of All Saints School on this award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Principal Stephanie Di Prima and Father Wayne Prist as symbols of our respect and esteem.
