HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Terry Ruhland on 
4
his appointment as the 2009 President of the Home Builders 
5
Association of Illinois; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Terry Ruhland was born and raised in Ottawa, as 
7
the youngest of eight siblings, where his mother and father 
8
owned and operated the local dairy; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Terry received an Associates degree in 
10
Engineering from Illinois Valley Community College and was 
11
employed by Caterpillar for six years; in 1987 he founded Plum 
12
Creek Builders in Chillicothe, and has been in business for 
13
twenty-two years; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, In 1998 Terry served as President of the Home 
15
Builders Association of Greater Peoria; in 2006 Terry served as 
16
Secretary of the Home Builders Association of Illinois, in 2007 
17
he served as Treasurer, and in 2008 he was Senior Vice 
18
President; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Terry has been married to his wife, Jeanie, for 28 
20
years; together they have two children, Rob and Andy; and

    WHEREAS, Terry is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys running, 
2
biking, kayaking, and is an accomplished mountain climber, 
3
successfully scaling Mt. Whitney, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. 
4
McKinley; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
recognize and honor Terry Ruhland as the 2009 President of the 
8
Home Builders Association of Illinois; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Terry Ruhland as a symbol of our respect and 
11
esteem.
