HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Tim Reiter of Boy Scout Troop 49, in Streamwood, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on January 27, 2008; and

WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and

WHEREAS, Tim was successful in the planning and building of bluebird houses and creating a bluebird trail to attract the birds; he also organized a bake sale and donated the proceeds to Grace Lutheran Church, where the houses and trail are located; and

WHEREAS, Tim Reiter has been in scouting since 1996, and earned many advancements, advancing through the Tiger, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Weblos I and II levels; Tim was awarded the Arrow of Light while in the Cub Scouts, the only award that can be carried on to the Boy Scouts; and

WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Tim joins an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its members an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders in business, government, education, and other sectors of society; and

WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout reflects favorably upon the recipient, his family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join his family and friends in congratulating Tim Reiter upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, and we commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Eagle Scout Tim Reiter as an expression of our respect and esteem.
