HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Lady Knights of 
4
A-C Central/Virginia High School on the occasion of finishing 
5
second in the IHSA Class 1A State Volleyball Championship; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Lady Knights ended their 2008 season as the 
7
most successful athletic team in their school's history with a 
8
34-8 record; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, The Lady Knights set a school record for most wins 
10
in a season and became the only A-C Central/Virginia High 
11
School athletic team to ever compete in a State tournament; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The head coach of the A-C Central/Virginia High 
13
School Lady Knights is Kristy VanMeter; the team's assistant 
14
coach is Caitlin Allen; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The members of the A-C Central/Virginia High 
16
School Lady Knights are Courtney Cave, Kayla Birdsell, Taylor 
17
Jacobs, Jill Stock, Madalyn Allen, Megan Bergerud, Brittany 
18
Stribling, Bre Reichert, Kate Williams, Kelsey Honkala, 
19
Samantha Morton, Sammy Petefish, Anna Herzberger, Taylor 
20
Jokisch, and Victoria Pherigo; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the coaches and team members of the Lady Knights 
4
volleyball team on their winning season and wish them the best 
5
in their future endeavors; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the Lady Knights volleyball team as a symbol of 
8
our esteem and respect.
