2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed colleague, | ||||||
4 | State Representative Robert S. Molaro, for his many years of | ||||||
5 | dedicated service to the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, State Representative Bob Molaro was elected to | ||||||
7 | serve the 21st Representative District in the Illinois House in | ||||||
8 | 2002; previously, he served as 12th Legislative District State | ||||||
9 | Senator for 11 years; during his time as an elected official, | ||||||
10 | he has devoted much effort to enriching and improving the area | ||||||
11 | he has represented and being a strong voice for his | ||||||
12 | constituents; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Throughout his career as a public servant, | ||||||
14 | Representative Molaro has championed the cause of animal | ||||||
15 | protection, sponsoring legislation in the Senate to ban | ||||||
16 | shooting preserves and passionately working to pass | ||||||
17 | legislation to ban horse slaughter for the purpose of human | ||||||
18 | consumption; he was also the House's leading advocate for | ||||||
19 | Illinois horseracing, an industry that provides thousands of | ||||||
20 | good jobs and offers one of the State's most exciting and | ||||||
21 | compelling spectator sports; and

22 | WHEREAS, During his tenure in the Illinois House, Bob |

1 | Molaro served as the Chairman of the Judiciary II-Criminal Law | ||||||
2 | Committee, shepherding legislation to protect the people of | ||||||
3 | Illinois and enact criminal justice reforms; he has also served | ||||||
4 | as a member of the Appropriations-Public Safety, Gaming, Mass | ||||||
5 | Transit, and Transportation and Motor Vehicles committees; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Bob Molaro was born and raised in Chicago's | ||||||
7 | McKinley Park Neighborhood before earning his Bachelor of | ||||||
8 | Science degree in business administration from Loyola | ||||||
9 | University of Chicago and a law degree from Chicago's John | ||||||
10 | Marshall Law School; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Representative Bob Molaro and his wife, Barbara, | ||||||
12 | have five children and reside in Garfield Park; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Representative Bob Molaro will be remembered for | ||||||
14 | his unflinching commitment to public service, the insightful | ||||||
15 | wit and humor he often brought to his floor speeches, and his | ||||||
16 | steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of the people | ||||||
17 | of the 21st Representative District; he will be further | ||||||
18 | remembered by the members of this body for his softball acumen; | ||||||
19 | therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
21 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
22 | thank Representative Bob Molaro for his many years of dedicated |

2 | our heartfelt best wishes for success in all of his future | ||||||
3 | endeavors; and be it further

4 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
5 | presented to State Representative Robert S. Molaro as a symbol | ||||||
6 | of the admiration and respect we have for our colleague and | ||||||
