    AN ACT concerning government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The State Designations Act is amended  by adding

Section 57 as follows:

    (5 ILCS 460/57  new)

    Sec. 57. State fruit. The fruit Malus xdomestica, commonly 
8
known as the "GoldRush Apple", is designated the official State 
9
fruit of the State of Illinois.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
11
becoming law.
