| AN ACT concerning education.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Higher Education Cooperation Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by changing Section 2 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (110 ILCS 220/2) (from Ch. 144, par. 282)
|

| Sec. 2. As used in this Act, unless the context otherwise |
| 8 |
| requires:
|
| 9 |
| "Board" means the Board of Higher Education;
|
| 10 |
| "Nonpublic institution of higher education" means an |
| 11 |
| educational
organization, other than a public institution of |
| 12 |
| higher education, which
provides a minimum of an organized 2 |
| 13 |
| year program at the private junior college
level or higher and |
| 14 |
| which operates not-for-profit and in conformity with
standards |
| 15 |
| substantially equivalent to those of the public institutions of
|
| 16 |
| higher education;
|
| 17 |
| "Public institution of higher education" means the |
| 18 |
| University of
Illinois, Southern Illinois University,
Chicago |
| 19 |
| State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State
|
| 20 |
| University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois |
| 21 |
| University,
Northern Illinois University, Western Illinois |
| 22 |
| University, the public community
colleges of
this State, and |
| 23 |
| any
other public universities, colleges and community colleges
