| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1349

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1349 on page 3, by |

| replacing lines 3 through 13 with the following: |

| "(c) Effective October 1, 2007, all changes in status of |
| 5 |
| Medicaid recipients
residing in Illinois nursing facilities |
| 6 |
| after initial eligibility for
Medicaid has been established |
| 7 |
| shall be reported to the Department, using an
Internet-based |
| 8 |
| electronic data interchange system, by the nursing facilities,
|
| 9 |
| except for those changes made by personnel of the Department. |
| 10 |
| Changes reported
using the Internet-based electronic data |
| 11 |
| interchange system shall be deemed
valid and shall be used as |
| 12 |
| the basis for future Medicaid payments unless
Department |
| 13 |
| approval of the transaction is required, or until such time as
|
| 14 |
| any review or audit conducted by the State establishes that the
|
| 15 |
| information is incorrect.".
