| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1446 on page 1, |

| lines 17 and 18, by replacing "The State Board may decide to |

| disburse no" with "No"; and

| on page 1, line 19, after "year", by inserting "shall be |
| 6 |
| disbursed"; and
|
| 7 |
| on page 2, immediately below line 1, by inserting the |
| 8 |
| following: |

| "(c) Funds for the We Want to Learn English Initiative may |
| 10 |
| only be used to provide English programs for United States |
| 11 |
| citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other persons |
| 12 |
| residing in this State who are in lawful immigration status.".
