SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates $5,800,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for payments of IL National Guard and Naval Militia Scholarships and $43,000,000 to military Veterans' scholarships, as well as, $1,800,000 to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for the payment of scholarships to students who are dependents of Illinois resident military personnel. Effective July 1, 2007.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for the following purposes:
Grants and Scholarships
For payment of Illinois National Guard
And Naval Militia Scholarships at
State-controlled Universities and public
community colleges in Illinois to students
eligible to receive such Awards,
as provided by law............................ $5,800,000
For payment of military Veterans’
Scholarships at State-controlled universities
and at public community colleges for
students eligible, as provided by law........ $43,000,000
Section 10. The sum of $1,800,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for the payment of scholarships to students who are dependents of Illinois resident military personnel declared to be prisoners of war, missing in actions, killed or permanently disabled, as provided by law.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
