| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 5-6008 as follows:
|

| (55 ILCS 5/5-6008 new) |

| Sec. 5-6008. Building permits. Once a building permit is |
| 8 |
| issued, the applicable building codes of any unit of local |
| 9 |
| government that are in effect at the time of the issuance of |
| 10 |
| the permit shall be the only building codes that apply for the |
| 11 |
| duration of the building permit.

| Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 13 |
| adding Section 11-39-4 as follows:

| Sec. 11-39-4. Building permits. Once a building permit is |
