| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2348

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2348 on page 6, |
| 3 |
| after line 19, by inserting the following: |

| "Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a medical or |
| 5 |
| health care provider under the medical assistance program may |
| 6 |
| elect, in lieu of receiving direct payment for goods or |
| 7 |
| services provided under that program, to participate in the |
| 8 |
| Illinois State Employees Deferred Compensation Plan adopted |
| 9 |
| under Article 24 of the Illinois Pension Code. A medical or |
| 10 |
| health care provider who elects to participate in that Plan |
| 11 |
| shall, for purposes of that participation, be deemed an |
| 12 |
| "employee" as defined in Section 24-102 of the Illinois Pension |
| 13 |
| Code.".
