| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 1-6001 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (55 ILCS 5/1-6001) (from Ch. 34, par. 1-6001)

| Sec. 1-6001. Venue of suits by or against county. All |
| 8 |
| actions, local or transitory, against any county, may be
|
| 9 |
| commenced and
and prosecuted to final judgment in the circuit |
| 10 |
| court in the
county against which the action is brought. Any |
| 11 |
| action, local or
transitory, in which any county shall be |
| 12 |
| plaintiff, may be commenced and
prosecuted to final judgment in |
| 13 |
| the county in which the defendant in such
action resides. |
