| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2749 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 200-14b as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (60 ILCS 1/200-14b new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 200-14b. Technical rescue services. A township that
|
| 8 |
| provides fire protection services may fix, charge, and collect
|
| 9 |
| reasonable fees for technical rescue services provided by the
|
| 10 |
| township. The total amount collected may not exceed the
|
| 11 |
| reasonable cost of providing the technical rescue services and
|
| 12 |
| may include charges for personnel and equipment costs.
For the |
| 13 |
| purposes of this Section, "technical rescue services" means a |
| 14 |
| rescue performed by a career or volunteer mobile support team |
| 15 |
| that a unit of local government has authorized to respond to |
| 16 |
| building collapse, high angle rescue, and other specialized |

| rescue emergencies and that is primarily designated for |
| 2 |
| emergency response to technical rescue events.
|
| 3 |
| Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 4 |
| adding Section 11-6-6 as follows:
|

| Sec. 11-6-6. Technical rescue services. The corporate
|
| 7 |
| authorities of a municipality that operates a fire department
|
| 8 |
| may fix, charge, and collect reasonable fees for technical
|
| 9 |
| rescue services provided by the department. The total amount
|
| 10 |
| collected may not exceed the reasonable cost of providing the
|
| 11 |
| technical rescue services and may include charges for personnel |
| 12 |
| and equipment costs.
For the purposes of this Section, |
| 13 |
| "technical rescue services" means a rescue performed by a |
| 14 |
| career or volunteer mobile support team that a unit of local |
| 15 |
| government has authorized to respond to building collapse, high |
| 16 |
| angle rescue, and other specialized rescue emergencies and that |
| 17 |
