    Amends the Children and Family Services Act.  Provides that the Department of Children and Family Services must establish and implement a program to monitor the minor children of incarcerated parents.  Sets forth the objectives of the program.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended  
5
by adding Section 41 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 505/41  new)

    Sec. 41. Children of incarcerated parents.  The Department 
8
must, in cooperation with the Department of Corrections, 
9
establish and implement a program to monitor the minor children 
10
of incarcerated parents.  The program must enable the Department 
11
to (i) obtain information regarding the location of the child 
12
and the identity of the child's caretaker and (ii) provide 
13
information to the child and the child's caretaker regarding 
14
any State services that may be available to them.
