| SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are |
| 3 |
| saddened to learn of the death of
Illinois Army National Guard |
| 4 |
| Specialist Ashley Sietsema of River Grove, who passed away on |
| 5 |
| November 12, 2007; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Spc. Ashley Sietsema graduated from East Leyden |
| 7 |
| High School in Franklin Park in 2005, where she met her future |
| 8 |
| husband, Max; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Spc. Ashley Sietsema served in the Illinois Army |
| 10 |
| National Guard for two years as a combat medic in the 708th |
| 11 |
| Medical Company, an opportunity that inspired her to help |
| 12 |
| others through medicine; she was sent to Kuwait in July of |
| 13 |
| 2007, where she served until her untimely death; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Spc. Ashley Sietsema is survived by her husband, |
| 15 |
| Max; her mother, Olivia Segura; and her brother, Kyle; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Spc. Ashley Sietsema will be remembered by all who |
| 17 |
| knew and loved her as a person with a strong drive for her |
| 18 |
| career and a great love for her dear family; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
