SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Donnie Shockley of Benton, on January 14, 
4
2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley was born on October 20, 1944, in San 
6
Francisco, California, to Henry and Ruby (West) Shockley; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley was a member of Benton American 
8
Legion Post 280 in Benton and a former commander of the post; 
9
he was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley retired from the Illinois Department 
11
of Transportation as an engineering technician after 37 years; 
12
and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Mr. Shockley is survived by his daughter and 
14
son-in-law, Dawn and Jon Jensen; his mother, Ruby Shockley; his 
15
brother and sister-in-law, David and Kay Shockley; and his 
16
grandsons, Adam David Jensen and Wyatt Juhl Jensen; he was 
17
preceded in death by his father; therefore, be it

 
18
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
19
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
20
his family and friends, the passing of Donnie Shockley; and be
