SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Jon Michael Hammer of Murphysboro, 
4
formerly of Springfield, who passed away on January 21, 2007; 
5
and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Jon Michael Hammer was born in Springfield on 
7
August 23, 1978, the son of Dr. Max and Linda (Williams) 
8
Hammer; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Mr. Hammer was a correctional officer for the 
10
Illinois Department of Corrections, Menard Facility at 
11
Chester; and

 
12
    WHEREAS,

He was in his senior year at Southern Illinois 
13
University in Carbondale and graduated from Culver Military 
14
Academy;  he attended Cathedral Church of St. Paul in 
15
Springfield; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Jon Michael Hammer is survived by his mother, 
17
Linda Williams Hammer; his father and stepmother, Dr. Max and 
18
Cheri Hammer; his brothers, Grant Elliott Hammer and William 
19
Jordan Hammer; his grandmother, Shirley Williams; and several 
20
aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
2
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
his family and friends, the passing of Jon Michael Hammer; and 
4
be it further

 
5
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Jon Michael Hammer as a symbol of 
7
our sympathy.
