SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Christian M. "Mitt" Kinder of Moro, who 
4
passed away on March 23, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Christian "Mitt" Kinder was born in Glen Allen, 
6
Missouri on September 18, 1916; his parents were Ule and Emma 
7
(Reimler) Kinder; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Christian  "Mitt" Kinder married Mercelete Vance 
9
on March 23, 1941, in Lutesville, Missouri; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Christian Kinder was the former owner/operator of 
11
Flat Top barbershop on Ridge Street in Alton, as well as a 
12
self-employed farmer, and was a member of the First United 
13
Methodist Church of East Alton; he enjoyed hunting and fishing; 
14
and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Christian "Mitt" Kinder was preceded in death by 
16
his parents; two sisters, Freida Croft and Mabel Dees; and one 
17
brother, Fred Kinder; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Christian "Mitt" Kinder is survived by his wife, 
19
Mercelete; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mick and Jan Kinder 
20
and Kelly and Margaret Kinder; his grandchildren, Rick Kinder

and his wife, Jamie, and David Kinder; and his 
2
great-grandchildren, Brett Kinder, Blake Kinder, Brady Kinder, 
3
Brent Kinder and Brooke Kinder; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of Christian "Mitt" Kinder; 
7
and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Christian "Mitt" Kinder as a symbol 
10
of our sympathy.
