SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
William F. Bailey of McLean, who passed 
4
away on May 19, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, William F. Bailey  was born on August 17, 1945 in 
6
Plattsmouth, Nebraska; his parents were William L. and Gertrude 
7
E. Ptacek Bailey; he married Barbara Hershe on March 13, 1971 
8
in Lexington; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, William F. Bailey graduated from Chicago 
10
Vocational High School in Chicago; he was a former police 
11
officer and chief of police with the Village of McLean, 
12
Hayworth, and Farmington; he retired from the McLean County 
13
Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff after 20 years of 
14
service; he was serving as the mayor of the Village of McLean 
15
at the time of his death; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, William F. Bailey was preceded in death by his 
17
parents, William L. and Gertrude E. Ptacek Bailey; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, William F. Bailey is survived by his wife of 36 
19
years,  Barbara; his sons, Brian K. Bailey and Scott (Amy) 
20
Bailey; his siblings, Diane Glave, Susan M. Ross, Judy E. 
21
Zimmer, James T., and Steven J. Bailey; and his three

grandchildren; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
his family and friends, the passing of William F. Bailey; and 
5
be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of William F. Bailey as an expression 
8
of our sympathy.
