SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Agnes Helmkamp of Edwardsville, who 
4
passed away on July 16, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Agnes Helmkamp was born on February 8, 1919 in 
6
Jarvis Township; her parents were Henry and Frances (Harris) 
7
Wilhelm; she married Oscar G. Helmkamp on May 11, 1946, in 
8
Troy; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Agnes Helmkamp was a teacher at Oak Grove in Fort 
10
Russell, retiring later from Marine Grade School; she was a 
11
member of Eden United Church of Christ; she was a member  and 
12
served on the church council at the Friend of the Well United 
13
Church of Christ, and Eden Circle 10;  and she was a member of 
14
Home Extension; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Agnes Helmkamp was preceded in death by her 
16
parents; her husband; her brother, John Wilhelm; and her 
17
sisters, Sue Wopat and Marguerite Strickland; and

 

18
    WHEREAS, Agnes Helmkamp was survived by her sons, Arthur 
19
and John Helmkamp, and Robert Helmkamp and his wife, Rebecca; 
20
her daughter, Virginia Frey, and her husband, Michael; and her 
21
grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel and Ashly,

Christopher, Caroline and Regina Helmkamp, Jarrod Frey, and 
2
Andrew and Kari and Matthew and Caleb Frey; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
her family and friends, the passing of Agnes Helmkamp; and be 
6
it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Agnes Helmkamp as an expression of 
9
our sympathy.
