SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey T. Meyers of Naperville, who passed away on July 29, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey T. "Jeff" Meyers was born April 14, 1958 in Aurora, the oldest son of Thomas and Geraldine "Geri" Meyers; he was a graduate of Aurora Central Catholic High School, St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota with a B.S. Degree, and Aurora University with a Master's Degree; and

WHEREAS, He was employed for the last 17 years by Omron in Schaumburg as a Technical Services Manager, traveling all over the United States and Japan; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Meyers was an avid golfer and Chicago White Sox fan; he was a volunteer at Hesed House and was a Board Member of the YMCA, involved with the Y Princess Program; he was also a member of the Naperville Planning Commission; and he participated in "Light the Night", an annual nation-wide walk raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jess (nee Hankes) and Carl Schomer; and paternal grandparents, Cora (nee Bagley) and Otto W. Meyers; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Meyers is survived by his wife of 23 years, Laurie (nee Garnett) Meyers, whom he married May 19, 1984; his daughters, Alyssa and Emily; his parents; his brothers, Greg, Dan, and Tom, Jr. (Sheryl) Meyers; his nephews, Thomas III, Christopher, and Matthew Meyers; his parents-in-law, Jim and Jan Garnett, who thought of him like a son; his brothers-in-law, Jeff and Jay (Cindy) Garnett; and his nephews, Tyler and Zachery Garnett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jeffrey Meyers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Meyers as a symbol of our sympathy.
