SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Randall E. Robertson of Granite City, who passed away on August 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Randall E. Robertson was born July 11, 1920, in Granite City, and was a United States Army Air Corps veteran; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Robertson was the founding member of the law firm Lueders, Robertson, and Konzen in Granite City; he was a licensed member of the Illinois Bar Association for 60 years; he was a graduate of Saint Louis University, with degrees in political science, history, and law; and

WHEREAS, He married Betty L. Libby on July 7, 1970; and

WHEREAS, He served as Illinois Assistant Attorney General for utility regulation from 1970 to 1984; he was on the Illinois State Ethics Committee from 1978 1979; he served as an attorney for the Granite City Park District from 1949 to 1994 and was the general campaign chairman of the Tri-Cities Community Chest; he received the Citizen of the Year award from the Granite City Chamber of Commerce and was honored in 1995 with the naming of Randall Robertson Park in the former location of Webster School in Granite City; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary (Stanton) Robertson; and

WHEREAS, Randall Robertson is survived by his wife, Betty; his three sons, Eric Robertson, William Hartman, and Douglas Hartman; his four daughters, Colleen Hughes, Robyn Rice, Laura McCune, and Linda Irvins; his 12 grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Randall Robertson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Randall Robertson as a symbol of our sympathy.
