SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
John Rogers of Downers Grove, formerly of 
4
River Forest, who passed away on September 8, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, John Rogers was born on September 4, 1922 in Oak 
6
Park; he was the son of Clarence and Bernadette Rogers; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, John Rogers graduated from Fenwick High School in 
8
1941 and attended both St. Benedict College and the University 
9
of Notre Dame; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, John Rogers was a proud veteran of World War II; 
11
and

 
12
    WHEREAS, John Rogers was the former owner of Crown Stove 
13
Works of Cicero; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, John Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, 
15
Clarence and Bernadette, and his son, Dick; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, John Rogers was the cherished husband of 60 years 
17
of Virginia Rogers (nee Noonan); he was the beloved father of 
18
Sharon Bigane, Judy, John Jr., Susan, Lauren (Chuck) Jamieson, 
19
and Tom (Karen); he was the caring brother of Patricia Tyrrell;

and he was the beloved Papa of Virginia (Joe) Mackay, Joe 
2
(Bridget) Bigane, Andrew (Anne) Bigane, Maureen (Martin) 
3
Franchi; John, Victoria, Marybeth, and Bernadette Lamoureux; 
4
Kelly, Jane, and Emily Rogers; Michael, Kathryn, and Adrienne 
5
Jamieson; Rachael, Tommy, and Jimmy Rogers, and 8 
6
great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
8
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
9
his family and friends, the passing of John Rogers; and be it 
10
further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to the family of John Rogers as an expression of our 
13
sympathy.
