SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" Pena of Waukegan, 
4
who passed away on December 16, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on October 20, 1949 in Mexico and 
6
came to Waukegan in 1964; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, She was a member of Holy Family Church in 
8
Waukegan; she was a founding and active member of Famonal and a 
9
member of Club Nuevo Laeon; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, She worked for Waukegan School District 60 for 
11
fourteen years as a bi-lingual secretary; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Gilberto 
13
Hinojosa; and her brother, Fernando Hinojosa; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Marla Arcadia Pena is survived by her husband of 
15
36 years, Mario; her mother, Delfina Hinojosa; her children, 
16
Felix (Kirsti) Pena, Cesar Pena, Hugo Pena, and Daniel (Mayra) 
17
Pena; her grandchildren, Adam, Lexi, and Lorena Del Carmen 
18
Pena; her sisters, Blanco (Federico) Salinas, Doris (Reynaldo) 
19
Najarro, Delfina (Chata) Lopez, and Olivia (Rafael) Lopez; her 
20
brothers, Gilberto (Candelaria) Hinojosa and Arturo (Betty)

Hinojosa; and her many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and

sisters-in-law; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
her family and friends, the passing of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" 
6
Pena; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" Pena as a 
9
symbol of our sincere sympathy.
