SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Sandy Compton of Carlinville, who passed 
4
away on December 20, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was born on January 12, 1950 in 
6
Carlinville; her parents were Wayne J. and Lillian I. Schrader 
7
Bates; she married Mike England in 1971; they divorced; she 
8
married Rick Compton on July 4, 2002 in Las Vegas; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was a 1968 graduate of Carlinville 
10
High School; she was a physical education teacher at 
11
Carlinville High School during the early 1980s; she then worked 
12
for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years; she served as the 
13
postmaster of Hettick since 1996; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was a member of Carlinville United 
15
Methodist Church and the CCC Ladies Golf League; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Sandy Compton enjoyed sewing, cooking, and 
17
gardening; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Sandy Compton is survived by her husband; her 
19
parents; her children, Amy Heffelfinger (Tim) and Eric England 
20
(Nichole); her grandchildren, Kassidy Heffelfinger, Ryan

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
her family and friends, the passing of Sandy Compton; and be it 
8
further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Sandy Compton as an expression of 
11
our sympathy.
