| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply |
| 3 |
| saddened to learn of the death of Frank Whiting Jr. on January |
| 4 |
| 24, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was born November 3, 1922 in |
| 6 |
| Chicago; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. had a distinguished education, |
| 8 |
| having graduated from the University of Illinois, where he was |
| 9 |
| an active member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. served in the Army and the Air |
| 11 |
| Force, serving in both World War II and the Korean War; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. retired at the rank of |
| 13 |
| lieutenant colonel after 28 years of combined military duty; |
| 14 |
| and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. retired from L.F. Rothschild in |
| 16 |
| Chicago, where he had worked for many years as a stock and bond |
| 17 |
| salesman; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. served as a Geneva Township |
| 19 |
| trustee; and
|
|
|

| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a long time member and past |
| 2 |
| commander of Geneva American Legion Post 75; and
|
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a member of many local |
| 4 |
| organizations and a member of the First Congressional Church of |
| 5 |
| Geneva; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was preceded in death by his |
| 7 |
| first wife, Cynthia; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a devoted husband to his |
| 9 |
| wife, Pearl; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was the proud father of three |
| 11 |
| sons, Frank (Susan), William (Penny), and Timothy (Terri) and |
| 12 |
| grandfather to Paige, Ashley, Amy, Sophie, Jacob, Austin, and |
| 13 |
| Caroline; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
| 15 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the loss of |
| 16 |
| Frank Whiting and his service to the State of Illinois, while |
| 17 |
| at the same time celebrating his legacy; and be it further
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and |
| 19 |
| resolution be presented to the family of Frank Whiting with our |
