SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Carol L. (nee Kuzma) Allen, who passed 
4
away on January 25, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Carol Allen was a lifelong resident of Joliet; she 
6
graduated from St. Joseph School, St. Francis Academy, and the 
7
St. Charles School of Nursing; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Carol Allen dedicated over 40 years of her life to 
9
the thoughtful and compassionate care of countless people in 
10
the Joliet community; she worked in numerous hospital and 
11
private practices, most recently at REMCO Medical; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Carol Allen was a member of the Cathedral of St. 
13
Raymond, C.C.W., Renew Prayer Group, and the Joliet Catholic 
14
Mother's Club; she and her husband, Dan, chaired Jubil-Auction 
15
for Joliet Catholic and St. Francis Academy; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Carol Allen was preceded in death by her loving 
17
husband of 35 years, Daniel Allen; her parents, Frank and Agnes 
18
Kuzma; her brothers, Eugene and Jim Kuzma; her mother-in-law 
19
and father-in-law, Daniel and Margaret Allen; her 
20
brothers-in-law, Keith Fleming and Jim Holbrook; and her 
21
sister-in-law, Jo Ann Kuzma; and

    WHEREAS, Carol Allen was the loving mother of Daniel 
2
(Theresa) Allen, Amy (Jason) Cox, Chris (Anastasia) Allen, and 
3
Matt (Ava) Allen; the cherished and devoted grandmother of 
4
Maggie, Meghan, and Danny Allen, Nolan, Colin, and Ryan Cox, 
5
Jude, Maia, and Ian Allen and Caleb Allen; the sister of Mary 
6
(John) Bolek and Barbara (Eldon) Holbrook Fraser; the 
7
sister-in-law of Helen Kuzma and Mary Fleming; and  the 
8
brother-in-law of Tim Allen; she is also survived by her Aunt 
9
Elizabeth Hirsch and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; 
10
therefore, be it

 
11
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
12
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
13
her family and friends, the passing of Carol L. (nee Kuzma) 
14
Allen; and be it further

 
15
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16
presented to the family of Carol Allen as an expression of our 
17
sympathy.
