| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Frank Kirk of Kenilworth, who passed away |
| 4 |
| on February 4, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Kirk grew up in Sullivan as part of the |
| 6 |
| Harshmanite religious group; he earned a pilot's license at the |
| 7 |
| age of 17; his love of flying led him to serve with the United |
| 8 |
| States Navy; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Kirk worked at Illinois Bell, Bell |
| 10 |
| Laboratories, AT&T, and Vitrocesit SpA; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Kirk developed a fine reputation as an |
| 12 |
| author, writing the 1973 tome "Total System Development for |
| 13 |
| Information Systems"; his work earned him a Book of the Month |
| 14 |
| Award for scientific publications; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Kirk enjoyed animals, being the owner of |
| 16 |
| turtles, horses, pigs, cats, hamsters, and many beagles; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Kirk is survived by his wife of 30 years, |
| 18 |
| Beverly; his children, United States Representative Mark Kirk, |
| 19 |
| Robin Kirk, Kristen Miller, Gretchen Miller, Melissa |
| 20 |
| Hutchison, Eric Miller, Kyra Miller, and Maya Kirk; and his |
