| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Kerry R. Sheridan of Shorewood, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on February 12, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS,
He served as the Fire Chief of the Troy Fire |
| 6 |
| Protection District for the past 48 years; he was a member of |
| 7 |
| the Will County Board, serving since 1982; he was President of |
| 8 |
| the Will County Forest Preserve District, Chairman of the Will |
| 9 |
| County Local Emergency Planning Committee, a member of the |
| 10 |
| Illinois Fire Chief's Association, and a member of the Joliet |
| 11 |
| Junior College Fire Science Advisory Committee; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Sheridan was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1080 |
| 13 |
| and the Elks Lodge #296; he was a Veteran of the United States |
| 14 |
| Marine Corps; and he was considered a Founding Father of the |
| 15 |
| Volunteer Fire Department in Troy Township; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond |
| 17 |
| J. and Dorothy M. Sheridan; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Kerry R. Sheridan is survived by his wife of 52 |
| 19 |
| years, Donna M. Sheridan (nee Frederking); his two daughters, |
| 20 |
| Diane McLelland and Patricia Sheridan; his two grandchildren, |
| 21 |
| Kerry and Colin McLelland; his brother, John F. (LaVonne) |
