SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Wilma J. Straka of West Frankfort, who 
4
passed away on February 21, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Wilma J. Straka was born June 8, 1925 in 
6
Spottsville, Kentucky; her parents were Hurmis Reed and Birdie 
7
Adamson Reed; she married Charles "Chuck" Straka on June 6, 
8
1945 in Harrisburg; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Wilma J. Straka was very active in Wit & Wisdom 
10
for many years; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Wilma J. Straka was of the Methodist faith and 
12
loved by her family and friends; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Wilma J. Straka was preceded in death by her 
14
parents; her sister, Betty Jo Norman; and her brothers, 
15
LaVelle, Edmund, and Walter Reed; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Wilma J. Straka is survived by her husband; her 
17
daughters, Kathy Logsdon and Kim and Ralph Ledbetter; her five 
18
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her two 
19
great-great grandchildren; her sister, Linda and Jerry Neal; 
20
and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
2
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
her family and friends, the passing of Wilma J. Straka; and be 
4
it further

 
5
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Wilma J. Straka as an expression of 
7
our sympathy.
