SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of William Joseph "Bill" Lamont of West 
4
Frankfort, who passed away December 1, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born July 4, 1939 in Franklin County to 
6
Pinckney and Dorothy (Holbrook) Lamont; he married Joyce 
7
(Thomas) Lamont on July 10, 1960 in West Frankfort; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Mr. Lamont was a member of the Caldwell Baptist 
9
Church and had served his country in the United States Navy; he 
10
graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1957; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, He was a former route driver for Colonial Bread 
12
and Hostess Cake Companies for many years before becoming the 
13
owner and operator along with his wife Joyce of the Benton 
14
Save-A-Lot Grocery Store; after becoming semi-retired he 
15
enjoyed operating his dirt hauling business; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, by his 
17
sister, Patty Davis, and by his aunt, Vernice Bertagna; and

 
18
    WHEREAS,  William Lamont is survived by his wife Joyce; his  
19
son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cathy Lamont; his 
20
grandchildren, Brent and Andy Lamont; his brothers-in-law,

Aaron and Joyce Thomas, Chester and Joyce Thomas, and Danny and 
2
Shirley Thomas; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, 
3
and his aunt, Margaret Lamont; therefore, be it

 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of William Joseph "Bill" 
7
Lamont; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of William Lamont as a symbol of our 
10
sympathy.
