SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carl Felix Saale of Alton, who passed away on April 16, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Carl Saale was born on February 25, 1931 in West Alton, Missouri; his parents were the late Felix C. and Wilhelmina (Donze) Saale; he married the former Patricia A. Astroth at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton on October 9, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Carl Saale was a member of the Marquette High School Class of 1950 and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he attended the White House Retreat for more than 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Carl Saale retired in 1987 as an owner of Saale Bros. Appliance and Building Material Company; since his retirement, he had served as the volunteer director of St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Carl Saale is survived by his wife; his children and their spouses, Barbara and Jeffrey Mourlam, Dr. Thomas and Cheryl Saale, Dr. Daniel and Laura Saale, Ronald and Karen Saale, Dr. Mary B. Saale and her husband, William Croxton, and Stephen and Jane Saale; his grandchildren, Ann, Mark, Tim, and Nick Mourlam, Mike, Patrick, and Jenna Saale, Taylor and Grant Saale, Jonathan, Meagan, and Kristen Saale, Brent, Robert, Claire, and Eileen Croxton, Phillip and Melissa Saale, and Haley, Logan, and Taylor Jansen; his brother and his wife, Norman and Norma Saale; and his sister, Ruth Guntren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Carl Saale; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Saale as an expression of our sympathy.
