| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Clarence "Clancy" A. Groblewski of North |
| 4 |
| Chicago, who passed away on February 27, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born
March 11, 1925 and remained a |
| 6 |
| life-long resident of North
Chicago; he proudly served in the |
| 7 |
| United States Army during World War II in the 170th Field |
| 8 |
| Artillery Battalion in the European theater; he was a true |
| 9 |
| patriot and remained red, white, and blue his entire life and |
| 10 |
| flew his American flag every chance he got; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, After returning from his war-time duties in |
| 12 |
| February 1946, he became engaged to the love of his life Marie |
| 13 |
| (Stimac); they were married on May 3, 1947 and had three |
| 14 |
| terrific and loving children; they enjoyed 60 wonderful years |
| 15 |
| together and celebrated the occasion with another memorable |
| 16 |
| family vacation with their kids on an Alaskan cruise; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He was employed for 30 years by the United States |
| 18 |
| Naval Department, Naval Printing & Publications at Great Lakes, |
| 19 |
| first as a printer and then as a shop planner; he also worked |
| 20 |
| part-time in his family's business, Ratajack's on 14th Street |
| 21 |
| in North Chicago, as one of the establishment's most popular |
| 22 |
| bartenders; he was a die-hard Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame fan; |
