SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marie H. Anderson of Gillespie, who passed away April 30, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born on August 12, 1905 in Gillespie, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Maggie (Wheeler) Vannatta; she married Robert Anderson on July 18, 1925 in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker who also worked at Sherman's Department Store in Gillespie until retirement; she was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Church and Ss. Simon and Jude Altar Society, both in Gillespie; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Betty Sandretto; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Anderson; her son-in-law, Pete Sandretto; and her sisters, Gladys Vannatta, Viola Vannatta, and Bessie Newman; and

WHEREAS, Marie Anderson is survived by her son, Randall Anderson; her daughter, Maxine Bomkamp and husband, William; her grandchildren, Randy Anderson, Ginger Anderson, Charlene Stewart, Shelly Barrett, Regina Garbin, Brenda Hampton, Mary Lou Hamlin, and Robert Sandretto; her twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Marie Anderson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marie H. Anderson as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
