| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of
Lewis G. "Louie" Badalamenti of |
4 |
| Edwardsville, who passed away on June 26, 2008; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti was born on March 22, 1927 in |
6 |
| St. Louis; he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie |
7 |
| (Sansone) Badalamenti; he married the former Doris E. |
8 |
| Grotefendt on September 14, 1952; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti served his country with pride |
10 |
| and distinction as a member of the United States Army; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti was the owner and operator of |
12 |
| Rusty's Restaurant in Edwardsville after buying the restaurant |
13 |
| from his father in the early 1950s; under his direction, the |
14 |
| restaurant grew from a hamburger and pizza place into a fine |
15 |
| dining establishment that was loved by many; he could still be |
16 |
| seen at Rusty's buffet carving table during the week until a |
17 |
| short time before his passing; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti enjoyed playing golf and |
19 |
| cooking and was an avid drawer and painter; much of his work |
20 |
| was displayed on the walls at Rusty's over the years and at |
21 |
| local art shows; and
|
|

| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti was a member of the Eden United |
2 |
| Church of Christ in Edwardsville; and
|
3 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti was preceded in death by his |
4 |
| wife; his parents; and his brothers, Joseph and Ronnie |
5 |
| Badalamenti; and |
6 |
| WHEREAS, Lewis Badalamenti is survived by his son, Joseph |
7 |
| Bryce Badalamenti and wife, Cindy; his daughters, Alexina |
8 |
| "Lexie" Werner and husband, Dale, Camille Bourisaw and husband, |
9 |
| Michael, and Taina Weir and husband, Doug; his special friend, |
10 |
| Jacqueline "Jackie" Rader; his grandchildren, Chas and Torey |
11 |
| Werner, Breanne Bourisaw, and Olivia Badalamenti; his |
12 |
| step-grandchildren, Brittney and Heather Trapani; and his |
13 |
| niece, Toni Siler and husband, Tom; therefore, be it
|
14 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
15 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
16 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Lewis Badalamenti; and |
17 |
| be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 |
| presented to the family of Lewis Badalamenti as an expression |
20 |
| of our sympathy.
