SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Nathaniel Cover Sr. of Peoria, who passed 
4
away on July 3, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born October 4, 1935, in Peoria to 
6
Nathaniel and Hulda Elsing Cover; he later married Joyce 
7
Becker; and

 
8
    WHEREAS,

Nate was an electrical contractor, serving as a 
9
board member for NECA, IBEW, and the Electrical Commission for 
10
the city of Peoria; he was founder and president of Cover 
11
Electric Inc., currently managed by his son; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He enjoyed playing tennis, and most of all, 
13
boating on the Illinois River and Lake of the Ozarks; he was a 
14
member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he also served as a 
15
board member; and he attended Bradley University, where he 
16
became involved in the ROTC program, later serving in the Air 
17
National Guard Reserves; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by one sister, Ann 
19
Barclay; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Nathaniel Cover is survived by his two daughters,

Kim A. (Alan) Maites and Ketra A. (Michael) Tobin; his son, 
2
Nathaniel B. (Jillian) Cover; and his eight grandchildren, Sara 
3
and Ellie Maites, James, Emily, and Abby Tobin, and Nathan, 
4
Logan, and Teagan Cover; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
his family and friends, the passing of Nathaniel Cover Sr.; and 
8
be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Nathaniel Cover Sr. as a symbol of 
11
our sincere sympathy.
