SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Rosina M. Kasten of Carlinville, who 
4
passed away on July 28, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Rosina Kasten was born on April 29, 1934 in 
6
Carlinville; she was the daughter of Joseph and Regina M. 
7
Schaefer Bomkamp; she married Dale Kasten on June 2, 1956 in 
8
Carlinville; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Rosina Kasten graduated from Carlinville High 
10
School with the Class of 1952; she was employed as a clerk at 
11
Sullivan Drug Store in downtown Carlinville for several years; 
12
she later served as an assistant librarian for the Carlinville 
13
School District for more than 20 years until her retirement in 
14
2005; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Rosina Kasten enjoyed golfing and working with her 
16
flowers; she was a very active member of the Ss. Mary and 
17
Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville and taught religious 
18
education for many years; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Rosina Kasten is survived by her husband; her 
20
daughters, Debra McNamara (Raymond), Maureen Oswald (Peter), 
21
and Arleen Haselhorst (Jeff); her grandchildren, Joshua and

Brittany McNamara, Jacob and Jill Steward, Quinn, Zachary, and 
2
Austin Haselhorst, and Jessica, Peter, and Sam Oswald; her 
3
brothers, William Bomkamp (Maxine), Richard Bomkamp (Cathy), 
4
Leonard Bomkamp (Dorothy), Paul Bomkamp (Sandy), and Norman 
5
Bomkamp (Judy); her sisters, Rita Cerar (George) and JoAnn 
6
Richey (Earl); and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
8
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
9
her family and friends, the passing of Rosina Kasten; and be it 
10
further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to the family of Rosina Kasten as an expression of 
13
our sympathy.
