| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
U.S. Army Private First Class Angelo |
| 4 |
| Shane Allen, who passed away on August 5, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Private First Class Angelo Allen was born on |
| 6 |
| October 29, 1987 in Aurora; his parents were Sophia T. (Manuel) |
| 7 |
| Torres and Shane (Edna) Allen; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Private First Class Angelo Allen spent his early |
| 9 |
| childhood years in Aurora before moving to Lubbock, Texas; he |
| 10 |
| graduated from Estacada High School in Lubbock, Texas, where he |
| 11 |
| was an honor student; he received five gold, two silver, and |
| 12 |
| two bronze medals from the Texas Academic Decathlon and was a |
| 13 |
| member of the ROTC during all four years of high school; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Private First Class Angelo Allen served his |
| 15 |
| country with pride and distinction as a member of C Company, |
| 16 |
| 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the |
| 17 |
| 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Private First Class Angelo Allen is survived by |
| 19 |
| his wife, Malini Allen; his mother, Sophia T. (Manuel) Torres; |
| 20 |
| his father, Shane (Edna) Allen; his brothers, Damian Allen, |
| 21 |
| Xavier Martinez, and Rene and Dion Allen; his sisters, Julissa |
