SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Jacob Donald "Don" Daugherty of 
4
Carlinville, who passed away on June 3, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Jacob Donald "Don" Daugherty was born January 14, 
6
1933 in Palmer, the son of the late Jacob Clarence and Lena 
7
Leola (Boyce) Daugherty; he married Dorothy M. Bristow on March 
8
27, 1954 in Girard; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He was in agricultural sales for twenty years and 
10
retired in 1994; he also worked for Standard Oil and owned 
11
Daugherty Ag Supply in Carlinville for several years; after 
12
retirement he co-owned Carts to Go with his son for ten years; 
13
and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Carlinville Moose Club No. 
15
1216 and had held every office except trustee; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He as a member of the 1950 graduating class of 
17
Carlinville High School; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Jacob Donald "Don" Daugherty is survived by his 
19
wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Denise Childress and her husband, 
20
Richard; his sons, David Daugherty Sr. and his wife, Fran,

Darrin Daugherty and his wife, Barb, Doug Daugherty and his 
2
wife, Melinda, and Duane Daugherty and his wife, Cheryl; his 
3
fifteen grandchildren; and his eleven great-grandchildren;

therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
his family and friends, the passing of Jacob Donald "Don" 
8
Daugherty; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Jacob Donald "Don" Daugherty as a 
11
symbol of our sincere sympathy.
