| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of Douglas Miller Lindsey, who passed away |

| on August 22, 2008; and

| WHEREAS, Douglas Miller Lindsey was born on October 7, 1951 |
| 6 |
| to William and Mildred Lindsey in Jackson, Mississippi; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas Miller Lindsey believed in God and had |
| 8 |
| faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas Miller Lindsey attended DuSable High |
| 10 |
| School; he worked as a chef for over thirty years for Grandma |
| 11 |
| Sally's Restaurant; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas Miller Lindsey loved his daughter, |
| 13 |
| Delaina and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his |
| 14 |
| siblings; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas Miller Lindsey is survived by his |

| daughter, Delaina; his stepchildren, Tasha, Mario, and Stenita |

| Major; his brothers, William Jr. (Denise), Eric (Donna), |

| Lawrence (Clara), Kedrick (Yvonne), Lambert, and Terrell; his |

| sisters, Gloria Jean, Patricia Faye, and Theresa (AJ); his |
