| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Janice Ruban, the former Mayor of Elwood, |
| 4 |
| who passed away on August 17, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in Chicago and married George Ruban |
| 6 |
| on February 7, 1959; they resided in Country Club Hills for 30 |
| 7 |
| years and moved to Elwood where they have lived for the last 14 |
| 8 |
| years; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She was very active in her community; she was a |
| 10 |
| Village of Elwood Trustee for ten years and was the current |
| 11 |
| Mayor of Elwood; she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church |
| 12 |
| in Manhattan; and she retired from the banking industry after |
| 13 |
| many years; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Henry |
| 15 |
| Gildemeister; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Janice Ruban is survived by her husband of 50 |
| 17 |
| years, George; her son, Robert G. Ruban; her daughter, Janet |
| 18 |
| (Martin) Borst; her two granddaughters, Jessica and Amy Borst; |
| 19 |
| her brother, Roger (Barbara) Gildemeister; and her mother, |
| 20 |
| Marian (nee King) Gildemeister; therefore, be it
