SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Everett E. "Gene" Goacher of Alton, who 
4
passed away on November 28, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born in White Hall on July 25, 1921, the 
6
son of Everett and Gladys (Hopper) Goacher; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, He married the former Rita Leady on October 24, 
8
1949 in Alton; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2006; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, He owned and operated Gene's Appliance-Air 
11
Conditioning & Heating for 40 years; he was a member of Alton 
12
VFW Post 1308, the Illinois Pilots Association for many years, 
13
and American Legion 126; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his 
15
wife, Rita; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Everett Goacher is survived by his two daughters 
17
and their husbands, Sarah and Jim Irvin and Susan and Rick 
18
Jones; his son and his wife, David and Eileen Goacher; his 
19
eight grandchildren, Brandon and Adriane Goacher, Matt, 
20
Jessica LeBrun and her husband, Jeremy, Kristyn Irvin and Adam,

and Kaylin and Tanner Jones; his two great-grandchildren, 
2
Landon Jones and Wesley LeBrun; his two sisters and a 
3
brother-in-law, Alice Stark and Glenda and Merle Apitz; his two 
4
brothers and their wives, Bill and Mary Goacher and Darrell 
5
"Hank" and Melba Goacher; and his companion, Wilma Bobbs of 
6
Alton; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
8
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
9
his family and friends, the passing of Everett E. "Gene" 
10
Goacher; and be it further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to the family of Everett E. "Gene" Goacher as a 
13
symbol of our sincere sympathy.
