| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Ford C. "Bim" June Jr., who passed away |
| 4 |
| on November 27, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ford C. June Jr.
was born December 5, 1923; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Bim, a lifelong Joliet resident, attended Taft and |
| 7 |
| Farragut grade schools and was in the class of 1942 at Joliet |
| 8 |
| Township High School; while in high school he was a C.Y.O. and |
| 9 |
| Golden Gloves boxing champion; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, During World War II, he served as a lieutenant |
| 11 |
| with the 13th Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot in the South |
| 12 |
| Pacific; he retired from the United States Department of |
| 13 |
| Defense, where he worked in the procurement section at the |
| 14 |
| Joliet Ordinance Ammunition Command/Army Procurement and |
| 15 |
| Supply Agency (APSA); while at APSA, Bim served on a special |
| 16 |
| team which spent six months in 1963 advising the government of |
| 17 |
| Iran; and he was one of the founders of the APSA Rod & Gun Club; |
| 18 |
| and |
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Bim was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed |
| 20 |
| fishing in the waters off Stuart, Florida;
Bim was one of the |
| 21 |
| original organizers of the "Save Central" campaign in
1981 and |
|

| was elected to the Joliet Township High School Board of |
| 2 |
| Education in one of the largest write-in campaigns in Will |
| 3 |
| County history; he later served as president of the Joliet |
| 4 |
| Township High School Board; Bim had also been a member of the |
| 5 |
| Elks Club of Joliet and the Joliet Country Club; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine |
| 7 |
| "Dolly" (Petersen) June; his parents, Dorothy Dibell June and |
| 8 |
| Ford C. June; his brother, Charles D.
June; and his sister, |
| 9 |
| Virginia "Cis" (June) Tracy; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Ford June Jr. is survived by his three sons, Ford |
| 11 |
| C. "Chet" (Judy) June, III, Peter Boyd (Janet) June, and David |
| 12 |
| A. "Andy" (Cindy) June; his grandchildren, Kathryn Lynn June, |
| 13 |
| Matthew Petersen June, and Morgan Lorraine June; and Amanda |
| 14 |
| Suomela June and Hannah Lillian June; his |
| 15 |
| granddaughter-in-law, Chang Suk Weber; his |
| 16 |
| great-grandchildren, Robert James Weber, III, Angelica Kathren |
| 17 |
| Weber, and Sarah Ann Weber; his great-great-granddaughter, |
| 18 |
| Madison Nichole Weber; his nieces, Laura Lynn (June) Maycen and |
| 19 |
| Susan Marie (June) Hildebrand; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
| 22 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Ford C. "Bim" June Jr.; |
