| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Criminal allegations are pending regarding the |
| 3 |
| conduct of
Governor Rod R. Blagojevich; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, The State of Illinois and our nation as a whole |
| 5 |
| currently face an economic crisis that profoundly affects all |
| 6 |
| of us; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The State of Illinois will need to take decisive |
| 8 |
| action in the coming weeks and months to deal with this |
| 9 |
| economic crisis and its effect on State finances; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The nature and severity of the allegations pending |
| 11 |
| against Governor Rod R. Blagojevich significantly interfere |
| 12 |
| with his ability to participate effectively in the process of |
| 13 |
| dealing with the problems faced by the State of Illinois; |
| 14 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
| 16 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we call upon Governor |
| 17 |
| Rod R. Blagojevich to resign immediately in light of the |
| 18 |
| allegations pending against him; and be it further
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be delivered to |
| 20 |
| Governor Rod R. Blagojevich.
